Take all my vicious words And turn them into something good Take all my preconceptions And let the truth be understood Take all my prized possessions And leave only what I need Take all my pieces of doubt And let me be what’s underneath
The human animal is a beautiful and terrible creature, capable of limitless compassion and unfathomable cruelty. If you wish to find that which becomes the dividing line between mankind and other biological classifications, it rests not in brain size, dominance, or even emotional capability, but lies in the unique capacity for human beings to reflect on their actions and show regret, what is most certainly the ability to empathize, that gives them their position. All mammals understand love and affection, but only man shows the propensity to place himself into the shoes of another life-form. Losing this capability, among individuals of this species, reduces them below their much heralded position, and readies the climate for the likely fall of man, the fall from grace.
I’m gonna cut right to the chase, huh?
Some women were made
But me, myself?
I like to think that I was created
For a special purpose
Usually I’m humble
Right now, I don’t choose
You can leave with me
Or, you could have the blues
Some call it arrogant
I call it confident
You decide when you find out what I’m working with
Damn, I know
I’m killing you with them legs
Better yet, them thighs
Matter of fact it’s my smile, or maybe my eyes?
Boy, you’re a sight to see
Kinda something like me
There’s a place where you can light the fire and watch it burn Lay it down and lose it all It’s taken me so far beyond the point of no return Gave all that I had When hope is gone
City pulls me in closer than I’ve ever been There ain’t no way I can escape Without a doubt you know that I would tread the deepest end Thousand years forever in a day But I don’t wanna drown in you I’m sinking, then I’m torn in two So when you see me come up for air Don’t try to hold me down, just save me now
